Chris is a highly skilled and seasoned professional with a career history spanning a range of disciplines. He has excelled throughout his career as an awarded high school teacher in Auckland, a recognised public relations consultant and a strategic consultant to national and international clients.
Chris was the Head of Faculty for English and ESOL at both ACG Parnell and Macleans College prior to his current position as Sector Lead: Strategy + Policy at Synergine Group Limited.
As a public relations consultant, Chris was awarded the ConsultUS “Young Practitioner of the Year” for his range of successful campaigns across the technology and FMCG sectors. During his decade-long teaching career, he was shortlisted for the prestigious Fulbright scholarship and contracted to Cambridge International Examinations as both an examiner and a consultant on a new curriculum. Chris was also a professional development instructor for teachers of the Cambridge courses.
Chris also successfully held a Guinness World Record, for the longest solo performance, from 2010 to 2012 when he played guitar and sang for over 33 hours while raising funds for cancer research. He maintains an active lifestyle including performing with his band around the country and around the world.
Chris is of Māori descent with his marae, Whangara, part of Ngati Porou on the East Coast of the North Island. He is currently in the process of learning fluent te reo.
