Elementary – has some skills in basic reading, writing and speaking
Purpose:
This qualification is intended for students who have limited or basic skills in English and wish to undergo study to progress to Pre-intermediate.
Graduate Profile:
Graduates will have the following English language skills:
Student can usually use present and some past tenses for all sentence types when writing, speaking and answering assessment questions. Student can understand graded English with limited vocabulary on every day, concrete items. Can write paragraphs with simple vocabulary and limited tenses – present, past and some future. Can understand simple, careful, spoken English and respond in phrases with limited intelligibility.
Education pathway:
Completion of this certificate will allow students to progress to Pre-intermediate certificate.
